How you experience the world

We each move through the world with a different sensory landscape.
Sound. Light. Touch. Movement. Texture. Proximity. Stillness.
What feels nourishing to one person can feel overwhelming to another.
Sensory Mapping is an invitation to become acquinted with your own way of sensing, responding and moving through the world.
Not to fix or change yourself.
To notice. To become curious.

Sensory Mindfulness
Our senses are constantly receiving information, while our bodies are constantly responding.
Sensory mindfulness brings attention to this ongoing conversation.
What draws you in?
What drains you?
What energises you?
What helps you focus, rest,
connect and feel grounded?
This is a body-up approach: beginning with what you can notice and feel, rather than what you think you should be experiencing.

what can you notice and sense in your body?
Sensory Regulation
Regulation is our capacity to respond to what is happening, within and around us, while staying connected to ourselves.
Sensory regulation begins with understanding what our bodies are receiving, and what helps us find our way back to balance.
It is not about being calm all the time.
It is about having enough awareness and capacity to notice, respond, recover and adapt.
We often think of the five familiar senses:
sight, sound, smell, taste and touch.
Alongside these are the vestibular sense, which relates to movement, balance and orientation, and proprioception, our awareness of the body in space.
Together, they influence how we notice, move, regulate, connect and respond.
They are part of how we experience ourselves...
and the world around us.
how do we notice, move, regulate, connect and respond?

Senses in relationship
Our sensory worlds shape how we live together.
At home, in families, friendships, relationships, classrooms and workplaces, our thresholds can be very different.
Understanding these differences can create more curiosity around ourselves and one another.
This is how I experience it.
This is how you experience it.
there is no single way to sense
Sensory Mapping with
Sensory Matrix™
The Sensory Matrix™ offers a way of seeing your sensory patterns with greater insight.
A map of what supports you, what asks too much, what restores you, and what helps you find your center.
The intention is not another label. It is a tool for self-knowledge.
A way of becoming more fluent in your own way of being.
No one is too young. No one is too old.
There is always more to discover about our bodies and how to fully embody our living experience.

The HOW of the Sensory Process
1. Introduction
A first conversation to understand what brought you here and what you would like to explore.
2. Sensory Mapping
A Sensory Matrix™ creates a picture of your individual sensory landscape.
3. Integration
Three sessions to explore your map in relation to the areas that matter to you: relationships, work, learning, overwhelm, rest, transitions or everyday life.
4. Further exploration
Two optional sessions can be included to explore your environment and its daily impact or potential.
Sensory Mapping Exploration
The map is a beginning.
The practice is learning to listen.
Take the next step to make sense of how you experience your life, and to find more clarity and insight on how to move through your days.
